big summertime giveaway

summer in utah is a little bit crazy, not gonna lie. sometimes there's snow, recently there have been thunderstorms.. oh, and the occasional sunshine :) we love it, though! we're trying to cram in as much summer as we possibly can... swimming, popsicles, warm summer nights, picnics, watermelon. all that jazz!
this week we've gathered some local vendors in an attempt to pack in some more summer! here's what we have for you:
Hi! I'm Alison of The Little Tiny. I create patterns and kits for mobiles, plushies, pillows and more! I also create unique, hip leather mobiles and I have a few kids craft kits on their way! I've worked as a professional writer and designer, and I love writing and designing patterns so that everyone can get crafty! My patterns and kits are simple enough for beginners but have enough versatility to enchant the more advanced crafter!
This is my newest plushie design that doubles as a pillow: The Black Tie Optional Penguin
I will be giving away one completed penguin as well as a pattern for him to the winner! The pattern provides two patterns, one for a plushie size penguin one for a pillow size penguin. The winner can choose which colors they'd like their waddling friend to don!

In 2007 I signed a contract with Shadow Mountain Publishing for the first in a five book YA fantasy series called Farworld. Although I have published several other books and taught many writing classes previously, this is my first YA book and my first fantasy series. I grew up in Northern California, and now I live in a windy little valley in the Rocky Mountains. I have a wonderful wife who has somehow stuck with me for over twenty years, four great children, a spastic border collie and a nice rotation of cannibalistic fish.

free 8x10 prints
Hey everyone! I'm doing some test printing with an online company I'm thinking about doing all my printing through, and I get 3 free 8x10 prints. cute kids contest
It's finally looking like spring, here in Utah... for now :) Time to celebrate!
Simple as that! E-mail us a photo. On Wednesday, we'll put them up on our Facebook page. Get your friends to come "like" your photo. The photo with the most likes by the end of Saturday, April 16 wins a FREE shoot! Easy enough, right? Start sending your photos! (PS- Make sure there's only one kid per photo.. you can enter more than one kid, though.) (PPS- "Likes" only! Comments on the photo are great, but only likes will count toward your free shoot!)

Goodness, where have we been lately? The weather's been so nice that our bodies were suddenly overwhelmed, panicked, and felt like they needed to get sick. Er.. what? True story.
That and school have kind of been hogging all our time, but there are still TONS of posts on the way, so please hang with us.
We did choose a winner, though. Well, "Random.org" chose a winner for us. Here you have it!

Alright... we promised a free session giveaway when we got to 200 Facebook "likes" and you guys got us there! We're excited for this month... after this giveaway, we have a March Special planned, and then another contest for a free shoot in April! Exciting, huh?

valentines mini-sessions
Beginning January 24, Eyes Wide Open Photography is offering Valentines Mini-Sessions! How many photos do you have of just you and your husband (not including your wedding photos...)? If you're not married, how about you and your significant other? No significant other? How about you and your best friend?
So many of us spend so much time behind the camera, documenting life, we forget to document that we're a part of it. Nick & I included. We had his fab photographer sister, Kelly, take some photos for us and I love them so much. We don't even have a family yet, but I plan on getting photos of us taken regularly :) You treasure those photos.
Let us document you and your loved one! 'Tis the season :) Here's a little more information:
Who: You and your "loved one".*
Where: Any location of your choice in Salt Lake or Utah County. If you don't have anything in mind, we do!
When: Any time between January 24 and Valentine's Day. We already have the next month filling up fast, and are down to five sessions left. So book us soon!
What: A 30-minute mini-session. A CD of your photos. And a credit of 20 4x6 personalized Valentine cards by Valentine's day.**
How much: $45

2011 senior reps
We're looking to take more senior photos. Normally, we specialize in family photography, but love spending time with seniors and getting to know them. We want to take photos that represent who they are and what they spend their time doing... none of this boring backdrop and typical poses stuff. We want to get out and show everyone who YOU are!
So we're offering a giveaway for 2011 Senior Reps. All the info is below. Just send us an e-mail at ewophoto@gmail.com with a photo and a brief explanation telling us why you are the best person to represent your school. We'll choose a winner from each high school and you'll get a free session, photos, rep cards & $15 cash for every friend of yours that books a senior session with us! Yep, get ten friends to come take photos with us and you've got $150 in your pocket. Sound good?
If you know any seniors, pass on the word! We'll keep this going 'til graduation this summer, and then start it up for 2012 seniors!
Also, if you're a guy graduating, and plan on going on an LDS mission after you graduate, we'll take your missionary photos for 50% off.
We've got more sessions we'll be posting later on this week! Is it just me, or is December ridiculously busy? I'm not sure we have a free day for the rest of the year... crazy! Hope your month is going well :)

Well folks, the first giveaway is over. I'm so excited though... I have two more in mind that will include multiple winners (as in ten or more). My ideal photo shoot... I just had a new baby boy five months ago! We already have a three year old son. The last family pictures we had were when he was six months old!
